Honestly compared

Why this, and not the alternatives

Every option here has something going for it. Here is where each one actually wins — and where it lets you down.

Folds away completelyFull wash loadSurvives the rainZero floor spaceWhere it genuinely wins
Starex foldable line
Plastic rackPortable — move it room to room
Nylon lineCheapest thing that works
Free-standing metal standNo wall needed — for rentals with nothing to bolt into

Plastic rack

Folds, but it still lives in the room. Blows over on a balcony and will not take a full load.

Where it wins: Portable — move it room to room

Nylon line

Cheap, and it survives the rain. Sags under a full load and never folds away.

Where it wins: Cheapest thing that works

Free-standing metal stand

Takes the load, but eats floor space and rusts by the second rainy season.

Where it wins: No wall needed — good for rentals with nothing to bolt into

Where they fit

Any sound wall, indoors or out

We have fitted these on tiled compound walls, plastered blockwork, fence walls and the narrow passages between a house and its boundary. The wall matters far more than the room does — if it is solid and properly plastered, the line will go on it. Every photo below is a real install, not a render.

Foldable drying line holding a full load of washing, clothes spread across every line

Balconies & terraces

The apartment case. No floor to give up, and the arm folds clear of the door.

Foldable drying line with blue lines fitted above a laundry area

Laundry areas

Straight above the machine, so the washing never travels.

Foldable drying line installed on a compound wall next to a slatted timber fence

Fence & compound walls

Long runs. This is where the extra poles earn their money.

Foldable drying line with red lines mounted on a garden boundary wall

Backyards

Full sun, full span, nothing standing in the grass.

Foldable drying line fitted in a narrow side passage between an apartment block and a boundary wall

Corridors & passages

The dead space beside the house. Folds flat so you can still walk through.

Foldable drying line fitted inside a covered utility area beside a doorway

Utility areas

Covered and out of the rain — useful in the wet season.

What we won't do

We won't mount it on a wall that can't take it

A foldable drying line carries the arm, the lines, and a full load of wet clothes — all through the bracket, into your wall. So the wall has to be sound.

We check all of this at the measurement stage, before you pay anything. If your wall isn’t suitable, we’ll say so and suggest another position. We’d rather lose the job than leave you with a hole in your wall.

Installation

We fit it. That is not an extra.

Measurement, fabrication and installation are one job and one price. Nobody hands you a bracket and a bag of bolts.

We measure

Free across Greater Accra. We check the wall while we are there.

We fabricate

Built in our workshop to your exact span.

We fit it

Bracket up, bolts in, tested with a full load before we leave.

Pricing

What it costs

Price follows the span, the number of lines, and the wall. Longer runs carry additional wall-mounted poles, which is what the pole prices cover. Installation is included — there is no separate fitting charge.

Questions

What people ask about drying lines

Three parallel lines start at ₵330 and six parallel lines are ₵500. Runs that need additional wall-mounted poles are ₵550 to ₵650 depending on the number of lines. Installation is included in every price.

Not on a sound, properly plastered wall. We mount with expansion bolts into solid blockwork and we check the wall before we fit. If it is not suitable, we say so and suggest another position.

A full wash load. The arm, the lines and the load are all carried through the bracket into the wall, which is why wall condition matters more than anything else.

Yes. The unit unbolts and re-installs on a new wall. That is the point of building it this way — renters in Accra move often.

We install. Measurement, fabrication and fitting are one job and one price.

{{LEAD_TIME}} — typically about a week from measurement to fitted, depending on the span and our workshop queue.

The pipe is galvanised and then powder-coated black, so it is built for rain and coastal air. That is two layers of protection, not one.

Greater Accra is our base and measurement there is free. For Kumasi, Takoradi, Tema and beyond, message us with your location and we will tell you what is possible.
